The 2018 Champagne Blanc De Blancs is a shimmering silver-straw color and is lifted and expressive on opening, with aromas of chalky earth, honeysuckle, and fresh pear. It offers more clarity than 2017, which was tasted alongside it, with a crystalline freshness throughout. Medium-bodied, with a lively mousse that accentuates a white pepper note on the palate, it is clean and elegant, with its floral and pithy citrus coasting through the finish. It is an attractive wine to enjoy over the coming 6-8 years.

Racy and well-knit, this linear Champagne expands on the satiny mousse, revealing aromas and flavors of poached quince, a touch of toasted brioche, nectarine and salted almond. Minerally finish. Drink now through 2030. 3,500 cases made, 83 cases imported.

The 2018 Blanc de Blancs from Champagne Deutz reveals a delicate, fresh bouquet with aromas of menthol, green apple, herbs and spring flowers, followed by a medium-bodied palate that is ripe and textural with a somewhat high-level dosage.
