The 2017 Cos Labory is pliant, open-knit and quite expressive. Spice, dried flowers, dried herbs, red cherry and tobacco are all finely-knit. A lovely wine, Clos Labory is just as delightful as it was en primeur. Readers can expect an attractive, mid-weight Saint- Estèphe built for near and medium-term drinking. The 2017 is nicely balanced and easy to like.

Inky-colored, with a firm yet concentrated, edgy style, the 2017 Château Cos Labory offers plenty of graphite, toasty oak, violets, and assorted dark fruits. I'd love to see a touch more baby fat and texture on all this structure, but it's nicely concentrated and certainly has potential.

The 2017 Cos Labory is medium to deep garnet-purple colored and very fragrant and floral with red and black fruits, some spices and earth plus a waft of herbs. The palate is medium-bodied, soft, fine-grained and juicy with good expression and length.

This is a structured wine, dry and firm, It seems to have lost some fruit along the way, showing extraction as well as acidity. Drink the wine when it may have softened, from 2024.
