This is subtle yet generous in feel, with seductive notes of gently mulled plum and black cherry that glide along over the velvety structure. The finish is infused with black tea and sandalwood. Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2032. 5,000 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.

The 2022 Tournefeuille retains the same fruit profile as I found out of barrel, although it does not quite deliver the same level of delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, nicely judged acidity, clean licorice-infused black fruit and a sapid finish that is more Fronsac than Lalande-de-Pomerol. This will give plenty of pleasure over the next 12 to 15 years.

This wine, produced from a sloping clay and gravel vineyard, has vanilla and red-cherry aromas. It is young, rich and full with blackberry fruits and a streak of tight acidity. Drink from 2026.

The 2022 Tournefeuille reveals aromas of pencil shaving, oak, cocoa, graphite and spices. The texture is firm and concentrated but a tad over-extracted, with imposing structuring tannins.
