The 2019 Sandstone was matured for five months in 700-liter amphorae. It has a fine asparagus and nettle bouquet, becoming quite tertiary with aeration. The Semillon imparts a light melted wax scent. The palate offers light tropical scents of guava and pineapple, then reins it in toward the finish, where a light saline note comes through. Fine.

A blend of 49% Sauvignon Blanc, 26% Sémillon and 25% Chardonnay, the 2019 Sandstone begins with classic Sauvignon Blanc notes of citrus, grapefruit and blackcurrant bud before showing wax melon, green apple and Meyer lemon. Medium-bodied, the energetic mouthfeel is food-friendly with bright acidity, hinting at sensations of dusty citrus blossom and ending with a crisp, clean finish that lingers with persistence. Nicely done.
