Rich, softly tannic and saturated with black fruits, tobacco and dark chocolate, this full-bodied wine has a long life ahead. Ample flavors are gently but firmly held by fine-grained tannins that will need time to resolve and let more complexity shine through. Best from 2027-2037.

There were more than 160,000 cases of the 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley produced, so it's good to see that it is performing well. There's an attractive floral top note that adds a touch of complexity to the cassis fruit, while the medium to full-bodied palate is silky and even elegant. It's a better wine-and far better value-than many entry-level wines sourced from Napa Valley.

The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Knights Valley is a powerful, wild and brooding wine. It shows good depth, but I find the mid-palate lacking in depth and less freshness than I expect to see in a young Knights Valley wine. Hints of cherry, earthiness and gravel linger, but the 2019 never comes together fully.

Offers a mix of savory, singed vanilla and mulled cherry and plum fruit flavors, ending with a cedary twinge. Drink now through 2023. 160,580 cases made.
