The 2014 Aloxe Corton 1er Cru Clos des Maréchaudes (Domaine du Pavillon) has a pretty wild strawberry and cranberry scented bouquet, the oak nicely interwoven here. The palate is well balanced with supple ripe tannin, well judged acidity, harmonious red cherry and raspberry fruit, with a very sleek and seductive finish. This punches well above its weight -- a very well crafted Aloxe-Corton.

Ripe and juicy, this is a wine with structure and fine, dusty tannins that give it density. The red fruit is juicy, perfumed and has the freshness of the vintage, bright and forward. The underlying tannins are concentrated and will allow the wine to age. Drink from 2020.
