Rich, with steeped currant, plum and blackberry flavors that have a warm compote feel, picking up dark chocolate, briar and Christmas pudding notes. Shows more heft than cut, but remains solid enough. Drink now through 2022. 7,400 cases made, 300 cases imported.

The 2014 Late Bottled Vintage Port is a blend of 45% Touriga Franca, 25% Touriga Nacional, 20% Tinta Roriz and some other typical grapes aged for four years in old Portuguese wood. It comes in unfiltered, with 100 grams per liter of residual sugar and a long cork. Aromatic, fresh and elegant, this is a fine performance in a tough year. It might not be the most concentrated or most powerful, but everything hangs together very well. The tannins are ripe but provide support. The wine's freshness makes it sing, though, and it has surprisingly expressive fruit. It might yet improve a bit in the cellar. There were 50,290 bottles produced.
